My daughter enjoyed an American Girl Tea Party Birthday this year. For the full details on the party, you can visit Bakerlady for amazing ideas and printables.
One of the most entertaining portions of the party included 12 girls making these tutus together for their dolls. Here’s a step by step guide to recreating adorable and easy-peasy tutus for any 18-inch doll. No sewing required!
First you cut up a bunch of tulle into 13 inch pieces, and get yourself a package of hairbands. It doesn’t matter what color the hairbands are, they are going to be all covered up in the end.
Get a hairband around your doll’s waist and start looping your tulle. Like so.
Pull the ends through the loop and tighten.
Like this:
Repeat all the way around the waist. About 25-30 times per tutu.
Boom. Done. See? Easy!
So you don’t have to sit at a computer scrolling through this post while surrounded by tulle, I made a nice printable for you with instructions and photos. Enjoy!
I love your blog!
Thanks!
love your blog. Your strips are 13 long but how wide?
As wide as the bolt of tulle was. I got the ones in a roll at Hobby Lobby. I believe they are 6 inches wide. Glad you love the blog!
